Low Impact Development (LID)

  conservation and the use of existing natural site
  features along with small scale stormwater
  controls which are designed to mimic natural
  hydrologic patterns.

• Port Townsend was awarded a LID Local Regulation
  Technical Assistance from the Puget Sound
  Partnership
• Modification of the Municipal Code and
  Engineering Design Standards to incorporate LID
  techniques as preferred stormwater management.
• Timetable calls City Council review in early 2010
• Currently the City continues to
• incorporate LID in public projects,
• encourage LID in private projects, and
• apply for LID related grants
