  • This course is designed to be taken as the first
    of four (4) modules.
  • The other modules are
  • Hazard Communication MSDSs
  • Hazard Communication Labels and Signs
  • Hazard Communication Health Effects
  • Additional training is available for the
    following specific hazards
  • Flammables
  • Corrosives
  • Reactives
  • Toxics

Purpose
  • to ensure that the hazards of all chemicals
    produced or imported are evaluated, and that
    information concerning their hazards is
    transmitted to employers and employees.
  • Required by Law OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1200
  • Established in 1983
  • Wright State Hazard Communication Written Program

    the HCS

    communication information is available

  • Incoming Material -- Manufacturer must send
    labels with

  • Name/address of manufacturer
  • Identity of the chemical on the on-campus label
    must be linked to the name on the MSDS and the
    inventory list of chemicals.
  • Campus-Wide Material --Labels, tags, placards,
    process sheets and markings on workplace
    containers must show
  • Identity of chemical
  • Appropriate hazard warning
