  • FFA was created in 1928 as the Future Farmers of
    America. In 1988 the name was changed to the
    National FFA Organization.

  • 1994 Corey Flournoy, Illinois, is the first
    African American to be elected National FFA
    President he is also the first urban student
    leader.

  • 1998 First member from Puerto Rico elected as a
    National officer.
  • 1998 Pl 81-740 was revised and replaced with PL
    105-2251998 The National FFA Center was opened in
    Indianapolis, IN.
  • It houses the National FFA Organization,
    including its Alumni and the National FFA
    Foundation.

    opened in Alexandria, VA.
  • It houses the National Council for Ag. Education
    along with Larry Case, National FFA Advisor, and
    Dr. Steve Brown, National FFA Executive
    Secretary.
  • 1999 National FFA Convention moved from Kansas
    City, Mo. to Louisville, Ky.

  • 2003 Javier Moreno, Puerto Rico, is elected
    national president he becomes the first member
    with a native language other than English to be
    elected national FFA president.
