A Brief History

• In February 2005, the Jersey Shore Alumni Club
  unanimously voted in favor of establishing three
  scholarships for Delta-Beta Chapters
  undergraduates
• This was a great step, but there was no funding
  for the scholarships!

The 3 Scholarships

• Red Clover Award Awarded to the initiate from
  the previous academic year who has contributed
  the most to the Delta-Beta Chapters progress
  since being initiated. Key criteria include GPA
  while pledging, breadth of involvement in chapter
  activities, and contributions made toward the
  chapters overall progress. 425 award.
• Delta-Beta Chapter Scholarship Awarded to an
  active, full-time member of the Delta-Beta
  Chapter at Monmouth University. This award will
  recognize the initiated member who most
  exemplifies the ideals of Sigma Pi through
  academic excellence, chapter leadership,
  philanthropic service, and community involvement.
  1000 award.
• Unnamed Award This award would be for a maximum
  of 500 and would be used to help a brother in
  good-standing pay for books for the semester. It
  would only be offered to full-time Sophomores and
  Juniors and also be awarded on a yearly basis.
  Up to 500.

Basics for All Scholarships

• Award winners all receive a plaque
• A longevity plaque will be hung in the chapter
  house detailing who wins the scholarships each
  year

The Red Clover Award

• Awarded for the first time in December 2006 to
  Patrick Doyle
• This award is funded privately by a chapter
  alumnus
• There is a committee appointed by the JSAC
  E-Board to go over the applications and decide
  the winner of the award

Delta-Beta Chapter Scholarship

• Established on December 1, 2006
• Funded through an endowment account with the
  Sigma Pi Educational Foundation
• Cannot begin handing out this award until we
  reach 10,000 in our endowment fund
