  • Open Kidspiration and click on Reading Writing
    Tab
  • Scroll down to block entitled Thinking About
    Stories
  • Use the onscreen directions and your assistant to
    complete the map

  • Open Kidspiration and click on Reading Writing
    Tab
  • Click on the block entitled Character
  • Use the onscreen directions and one from the E
    group to help you

B. Create New Route
  • Open Kidspiration and click on the Writing Tab.
  • There will be an oval in the middle of the page.
    Type the characters name there.
  • Click on Add Symbol to add new places on the
    map.
  • Print out your map

B. Letter
  • Open Kidspiration and click on the Writing
    button.
  • With another classmate, write a letter to a
    character in the story.
  • Print out the letter using your computer buddy.

  • Using the script written by the A. group, plan
    how to act out the story.
  • Work with an A. group buddy to learn how you will
    act out your part.
  • Plan how you will set up your stage.
  • Begin the drama with the A. group filming

  • Open Kidspiration and click on the Reading
    Writing Tab, then the Thinking About Stories
    block. Click OK button.
  • Follow the onscreen directions for mapping the
    elements of the story using sentences and
    pictures.

  • Read two different versions of Little Red Riding
    Hood stories.
  • Read Lon Po-Po by Ed Young and James Marshalls
    version of Red Riding Hood
  • Use Kidspiration/Reading Writing/Comparison to
    note how the stories are alike and how they are
    different

  • Use the software entitled Happily Ever After.
  • Access the Little Red Happy Coat Game
  • With a partner, explore the maze to find as many
    ways through the forest to grandmothers house as
    possible.

A. New Ending
  • Students will use the story up to the point where
    Little Red Riding Hood arrives at her
    grandmothers house.
  • From there, create a new ending to the story
    using the word processor in MSWorks
  • Use an E. group buddy to assist you.

  • Access the site below and read two different
    versions of the story

  • At this site click on the link archive
    inventory. Select two of the links from this
    page.
  • Be sure that you take notes in order to remember
    specific information about each of the two
    versions.

E. New Version
  • Access the software Twisted Tales.
  • Click on the frog to go to the Little Red Riding
    Hood story.
  • Once in the story select how you will twist the
    story by pressing the three choices.
  • Once the story is completed, print it out to read
    to the rest of the class.

E. Publish a story on the Web
  • Access this site to publish your fairy tale.
  • With the help of the teacher, follow the
    directions at this site. Once you have typed in
    your fairy tale, press the preview button to
    review your work.
  • Before you press the submit button, let your
    teacher see the finished product.

E. Flyer
  • Access MS Publisher from the Start Menu.
  • Under Wizards, click on Flyers.
  • Select the one you like best.
  • With teachers help, make a draft copy of the
    information to include on the flyer.
  • Print out the flyer once info has been saved.
