Key Features of TRIPTI
  • Women empowerment through development of
    sustainable institutions of women
  • SHGs and its federations at Panchayat and block
    level as strategic intervention.
  • Funds for Institutional building and support for
    micro investment plans.
  • TRIPTI will play a catalytic role to leverage
    funds from Banks and other financial
    institutions.
  • Developing better livelihood options for the
    poor through value chain analysis.

Progress so far
  • A state level society namely Orissa Poverty
    Reduction Mission has been established under the
    Chairmanship of Chief Secretary to implement this
    project.
  • The Governing Body is headed by the Chief
    Secretary .
  • State programme Monitoring Unit (SPMU) has been
    setup as the implementing arm of OPRM. Director
    TRIPTI cum Director social welfare is functioning
    as State Project Director . APD cum under
    secretary and AFA cum Under Secretary from
    Panchayati Raj department, 4 Subject Matter
    Specialists (Capacity building and Microfinance
    ,Monitoring and Evaluation, Financial Management
    and Livelihood) and three support staff are
    currently working in SPMU.

Progress so far
  • Exposure visits for SPMU to Tamil Nadu Andhra
    Pradesh
  • Integrated Social and Environmental Assessment
    (ISEA)Study by Varun Techno Infrastructure Pvt.
    Ltd. completed and the report presented .
  • Study on Governance and Accountability Action
    Plan (GAAP) conducted by CYSD on behalf of the
    World Bank.
  • Project Implementation Plan (PIP) and Community
    Operational Manual (COM) prepared and appraised
    by Bank.
  • In 05-06 State Govt. provided Rs.1.00 crore out
    of its own fund for project preparation.

CONT.
  • During negotiation the World Bank agreed to
    finance up to US 2 million for eligible project
    expenditure under retroactive finance.
  • The Project has been approved by The Board of
    Directors of World Bank on 31st July,2008.
  • Baseline and Status of SHG and Federation study
    will be initiated soon .
  • 3 nos of Workshops on Community Operational
    Manual (to solicit feedback on the concept and
    design of TRIPTI from the community) have been
    conducted .

Road Map
  • The project will be piloted in six G.Ps situated
    in TRIPTI operational area for helping the
    project team to develop a profound understanding
    on different issues relating to the project
    design and to carry forward and replicate the
    learning in other project blocks.
  • Dove-tailing with DRDAs and Mission Shakti
    activities relating to SHGs and its federations .
    Skill upgradation programme will be taken up.
  • Medium and long term measures for livelihood
    restoration within the project frame work to be
    assessed soon in the flood affected area.
  • Web development and management will be taken up
