3Artist Statement I have been interested in art
since I was in the sixth grade and now I have
gotten much better and absolutely love it. In
fact, in my freshman year I signed up for art one
and since then I have been enrolled in an art
class every year and now, I am in art three
honors and intend to be in art four next year. I
also joined art club and National Art Honors
Society my freshman and sophomore years, but I am
not currently enrolled in neither. All of my
artwork represents my interests in life or either
something I live by. A lot of times my artwork
tends to have the general theme of the south.
Being, I love my southern heritage, many of my
pieces include dogs, old barns in my photography,
and even really bright colors in some
pieces. For some of my future pieces, I want to
add more bright vivid colors, as well as pieces
that catch your eye. Furthermore, I want to pay
more attention to details, so it will make my
piece stand out and get the viewers attention. I
plan to implement some of these plans when I go
to college to become an interior designer. In
addition I plan to do personal art on the side.

5Chesapeake Bay Retriever
- This is the only oil painting I have ever done
and it is my favorite piece. When I was thinking
of a subject matter I thought it would be nice to
add something a little different and interesting.
So, I decide I wanted to try oils and paint one
of my favorite types of dogs a Chesapeake Bay
Retriever. Although, it was hard I am glad with
how it turned out.

7Street Painting Design
- I worked two weeks straight on this piece and it
paid off when it got selected to be chalked in
the streets of downtown Raleigh. The details on
this piece were exquisite and when it was painted
on the sidewalk it looked two times better.

9Shattered Image
- I created this piece my freshman year and it
turned out to be one of my favorite colored
pencil drawings. For my subject matter, I chose a
horse raring back and diamonds to shatter the
image. If you look closely every individual piece
contrasts the color black or white. Also, this
piece represents our school mascot and school
colors.

11Elongated Self Portrait
- This piece was one of the hardest in my opinion.
I created this piece my sophomore year and had
never worked with pastels in my life, so it was a
challenge in many ways. Although, I was very
happy in the end after it was complete. My
favorite part about the picture, is the wild
colors that this piece includes.
