  • Created by Order-in-Council in 1927.
  • In 2003 administration merged with Canadian
    Government
  • Publishing (CGP) to form Publishing Depository
    Services (PDS)
  • Acquires, catalogues and distributes federal
    government
  • publications in all formats to a network of
    depository libraries
  • as well as federal parliamentarians free of
    charge.
  • Acts as the Governments information safety net,
    collecting
  • government publications and making them widely
    available to
  • the Canadian public through the Depository
    library network.
