• Comparison of transportation plans with State
  conservation plans or maps, if available

• inventories of natural or historic resources,

• Discussion of potential mitigation activities and
  areas to carry out activities

Initial Consultation Process

• The focus of the 1st year was to
• Establish contact for long-term engagement
• Environmental agencies stated
• 1. already involved in project level review
• 2. contacts for future engagement
• 3. access to GIS data

• 7 maps Wetlands, Floodplains, Protected Lands,
  Green Infrastructure, Sensitive Species, Historic
  Resources, and Impervious Surface
• Purpose of the mapping component
• To show the connection between environmental
  planning and transportation planning at the
  regional scale

• Publicly available national data from USFWS,
  FEMA, and The National Atlas of the U.S.
• Publicly available state data from MD DNR
• Publicly available city data from DC DPR
• Access granted for regional data from NPS
• Access granted for state data from VDCR-DNH and
  VDGIF
• The entire region is covered, except when noted
