Lesson Objectives
  • The students will use the computer in class to
    provide them with information about their topic
    this includes using the computer for homework and
    in-class assignments. Using the computer will
    help the students because they will be able to
    look up examples to help them with their
    assignment. I also want to keep in mind that the
    students will be taught the right way to use the
    internet, which means not surfing the web and
    staying on topic.

Lesson Objectives Cont.
  • I want the students to know that using the
    internet will be a helpful tool and it can only
    help them through lessons. This will help my
    students become more responsible by checking
    every day before leaving class what they next
    assignment is on the online syllabus.
  • The students will learn how to create a Word
    Document and the internet to complete assignments
    in and out of class.

Introduce Learning Activity
  • The lessons we will be covering are the days of
    the week, and how to tell time. This all sounds
    like a lot but it really all fits together and is
    quite simple once you get used to it. Whenever I
    think about the days of the week I think about
    the days of the week song, and when you sing it
    in Spanish it rhymes just like English and with
    times its all about memorization. In order for
    the students to know how to use the computer I
    will go over the process of getting on the
    website on the overhead projector.

  • With you guys learning the days of the week and
    times of the day each student will be able to not
    only write the dates on top of papers but , each
    student will be asked routine questions at the
    beginning of class to see if they know the
    material. Also for future tests it will be good
    to know these basic things.
  • The computers will help each student to organize
    assignments to be handed in. Also each student
    will be able to use the internet for back up and
    reinforcements on assignments in case they forget
    something.

Provide Information
  • With this system, I am going to allow each
    student to go back and fix their mistakes. I
    wouldnt use grades if I didnt have to so I will
    allow them to go back and correct their
    assignments so each student can get the best
    grade as possible. Even though I will be allowing
    students to go back and correct they will also be
    expected to study outside of class and the final
    assessment will not be able to be corrected.

  • The only rule I will have is that, when they go
    on the computer and correct their mistakes, I
    will ask each student to provide an explanation
    of why it was wrong and how to fix it. I think it
    is completely fine to make mistakes I just want
    them to know that I am being fair. In order for
    you to give me the same amount of respect instead
    of cheating show me you found the correct answer
    and why it was wrong.

Provide Practice
  • With learning the days of the week and times of
    the day after the lecture we will do a number of
    activities. The activities will consist of online
    work and a conversation with me about your weekly
    routine.

Provide Practice Cont.
  • The first activity we will do is time of the day
    bingo I will hand out bingo boards with the
    English times on the board. I will yell out the
    Spanish translation for that time, in order to
    win the students has to fill in a line or
    diagonal line and then repeat to me all their
    times in Spanish.
  • We will then play a game on the internet we will
    play until everyone wins, this game will help
    with memorization and also with accessing the

Provide Knowledge of Results
  • After doing these two activities I will have each
    student get onto the computer again and have then
    get on Microsoft Word.
  • Each student will make a Word document about
    their daily routine. They will write down each
    day of the week and their schedule with times of
    things going on during the day. They will then
    print and trade with another member of the class,
    the students will grade each others work correct
    their mistakes and give them back.

  • I will walk around the room at this time and see
    if everyone is on the right track and staying on
    topic. With these corrections they should retype
    their schedule and print it out to be handed in
    at the end of class.

Review Activity
  • After this I will do a review of what we have
    gone over. This will give the students the chance
    to ask any questions they may have. After they
    ask questions, I will do a review of the material
    to answer any of the questions some people may
    have no asked.
  • During the review I will go around the room
    randomly and I will say a time or day of the week
    in English and have them tell me it in Spanish
    and vice-versa. With doing this they will prove
    to me that they know not only how to translate a
    word in Spanish but also in English which is very
    important.

  • If I notice some students arent really picking
    up on this I will send the other half to the
    computers. They will continue to do practice on
    the internet as I give the others extra one on
    one help.

Method of Assessment
  • As I stated before I will have a conversation
    between me and the student to test their ability
    on this lesson. I will be evaluating each
    students keeping in mind their homework
    assignments, and participation in the other parts
    of the lesson.
  • I will ask them their daily routine, see if they
    are able to answer my questions and hopefully
    have them realize that they are now making
    sentences. And also having a conversation which
    is a very important part of learning a different
    language.

Method of Assessment Cont.
  • Along with the conversation, if they had done the
    previous assignment of typing their daily routine
    and gotten feedback from me and their fellow
    students they will hand that in as well. When
    thinking about the conversation if they did all
    the work they would be set.
