• Programming Windows (5th edition) by Charles
  Petzold.
• Windows Sockets Network Programming by Bob Quinn
  and Dave Shute.
• Software Windows 2000 and VC 6.0.

• Scale A 90-100, B80-89, C70-79, D60-69,
  E0-59.

LABS

• Attendance Required.
• Work MUST be demonstrated to TA.
• Need to show that you understand what you turn
  in.
• Lab must be completed by end of session.
• NO LATE LABS WILL BE ACCEPTED
• If not finished in lab, TA will grade based on
  what you have completed.

Important Dates

• Drop The last day to drop the class is February
  4th.
• Midterm Wednesday, March 12th.
• Final Wednesday, May 14th, from 1030 AM to
  1230 PM.
• PLEASE NOTE
• You must take the exams at their scheduled time.
• There will be no early exam given to accommodate
  travel plans.
• There will be no makeup exams.

Exams

• Exams will cover material from the book, the
  lectures, and the labs.
• Material that was assigned is fair game for the
  exam whether it was discussed in class or not.

Classroom Etiquette

• Attendance is strongly encouraged but not
  required.
• Talking during lecture is disruptive and
  annoying.
• If you need to sleep stay in bed.
• Attendance may be taken from time to time during
  the semester.
• Will not hurt your final grade but may help it,
  particularly if you are on the borderline.

Academic Integrity

• Your work must be your own.
• Cannot copy even if you modify code.
• Copied labs will result in a grade of zero for
  all involved.
• 2nd time dismissed from class.
• If successful, do not brag about it.

Tips on Failing This Class

• Do not attend labs and try to turn in all lab
  material at the end of the semester. Make up an
  excuse that is of sufficient size and gravity to
  cover all labs.
• Cheat. And then brag about it to your friends,
  TA, and instructor.
• Do not show up for the final. Then make an excuse
  involving a visit to the emergency room and the
  need to take pain pills. If possible, wear
  crutches with appropriate bandaging.
• Buy your project from the project broker.
