ACCESSING PLACEPRO

• The system can be accessed through the Career
  Centre website at www.uregina.ca/careercentre
• Access Code uregina
• Use UR Self-Service username and password (use
  only the first six digits of password if its
  longer) to access your student profile

CREATING A PLACEPRO PORTFOLIO

• Upload your documents (cover pages, resume(s),
  transcripts, and any other relevant
  documentation) for use in your resume portfolios
• Select and order documents for use in the
  portfolio name and save
• Each portfolio will contain a minimum of a cover
  page, resume and transcripts also include any
  other information asked for in the posting
• Create a Portfolio for each job and a Co-op
  portfolio that will contain the Office cover page

VIEWING JOBS ONLINE

• Access the Job Search function through the Job
  Search tab at the top of the screen
• Search, view, and apply to postings that are of
  interest to you

FIRST APPLICATION DEADLINE

• First application deadline 930 p.m. on
• September 23.
• Dont wait until the last minute to apply for
  jobs!
• Always check the closing dates - some jobs close
  early
• Check and Double-check!

DOUBLE WORKTERMS

• If you are applying for an 8-month work term, you
  must complete a Request for Double Work Term
  form (you need to get permission from your
  Faculty to do two work terms back to back).
• Complete an academic plan with your request form
  see your coordinator if you need assistance.
• Hand your completed application in at the Career
  Centre.

• It is still 1st round Match process
• More jobs will continue to be posted
• Keep checking PlacePro every day and check your
  uregina e-mail
• Jobs may have different deadlines read the
  postings carefully!

RANKINGS

• The Match seeks to maximize the number of
  opportunities our students have to find a Co-op
  job.
• Students receive PlacePro ranking access on
  Wednesday, October 21st.
• All 1st and 2nd work term students and Interns
  are required to attend a Match/Post-Match
  Information Session on Wednesday, October 21st at
  230 p.m. in ED 191.
• Student Online Ranking must be completed by 1200
  noon on Thursday, October 22nd.

POST-MATCH 2nd ROUND

• Jobs will continue to come in keep checking
  PlacePro.
• We will apply for jobs on your behalf
• Keep your information current
• Talk to your Co-op Coordinator about relocating
• Ensure you have a default Co-op Portfolio
• Direct job offer
• 24 hours to accept

• If you have any questions about how to use
• Place Pro, contact your Co-op Coordinator.
• Do not wait until the last
• minute to get assistance!

VISA STUDENTS

• Must have a valid work permit to participate in
  the Co-op Program.
• Sign up for the Visa workshop on Friday,
  September 18th at 1100 a.m. or 300 p.m. in RC
  251.1. Note The Visa Workshop is a
  requirement.
• Must supply the Co-op Office a copy of your work
  permit.

Engineering Double Work Term Information Session

• This is a mandatory session for Engineering
  Students new to Coop
• TBA
• Please sign up at the Career Centre

STUDENT LOANS

• If you need to apply for a student loan only
  apply for one semester at a time. Previously
  students were not eligible to receive student
  loan funding while they were on a Co-op work
  term. This has changed. Retroactive to
  September 2007, students who are on a Co-op work
  term may receive funding for their work term.
  (check Student Loan regulations)
• If you are on a Co-op work term, you can stay in
  interest-free status by having a Schedule 2
  signed at Financial Services (ADHUM 205).

• (ADHUM 210).

• Acceptance / Non-acceptance letter pick-up on
• Monday, September 21st after 200 p.m.
• First Application Deadline
• Wednesday, September 23rd at 930 p.m.
• Please ensure that we have your correct e-mail
  address _at_uregina.ca
• Please make sure you have a valid uregina.ca
  address registered with the Registrars office.
  You will not receive e-mails from Place Pro if
  you dont utilize a uregina.ca address.
