How does it work? Part I
  • Customer enrolls their cellular phone number in
    MessagePay
  • Customers payment methods are securely recorded
    in their MessagePay account
  • During a purchase transaction the merchant
    sends a Pay Request to MessagePay for a specific
    cellular phone number (the customers)
  • MessagePay validates the transaction and sends a
    Pay Request to the customer via cellular phone
    text message

How does it work? Part II
  • If a customer phone number is not enrolled, a
    message can be sent to the provided phone number
    prompting enrollment
  • Enrolled customers receive a Pay Request message
    on their phone
  • If the customer agrees with the charge, they
    simply reply to the Pay Request with their
    password and transaction number
  • MessagePay does the rest and the customers
    payment information is kept private and the
    transaction is coded/listed as MessagePay Payment
    Services 1234567 (where 1234567 is a unique
    Transaction ID)
