• Since Tzu Chi started the cadaver donation
  program in 1995, over 16,000 people have signed
  up to donate their bodies post-mortem. Tzu Chi
  performs a memorial service to pay the utmost
  respect for these Silent Mentors.

• BTCSCC (Buddhist Tzu Chi Stem Cells Center),
  established in 1993
• One of the largest registries for Asian w/
  319,596 donors
• Bone marrow 1832 transplants in 27 countries
• Stem cell 38 transplants in 7 countries

The Story of Lea and Rachel

• 2003 Lea and Rachel, conjoined at the chest and
  heart and both with cleft palates, are born in
  the Philippines and taken to Tzu Chi General
  Hospital in Taiwan for a successful separation.
