  • An inventor is someone who makes something new
    that does not already exist.

    experimenting.
  • They are very important to us in many ways.

  • There are many famous inventors that have helped
  • shape the world today.
  • Can you think of some inventors and their

Thomas A. Edison
  • Thomas Alva Edison is a very famous inventor with
  • inventions that we use today. He was born in
    1847
  • and lived to be 84 years old. He was a very
    smart
  • man and was always experimenting with different
  • things.

Some Of His Inventions Include
  • The Phonograph to record sounds and play them
    back
  • The Motion Picture Camera to record movies and
    play them
  • And The Light Bulb to use electricity to light
    homes instead of candles and gas lamps

Alexander Graham Bell
  • Alexander Bell was the
  • inventor of the telephone,
  • the most used method of
  • communication. He was
  • born in 1847 and lived to be
  • 75 years old. He had many
  • other projects he worked on
  • with other people but is most
  • remembered for the
  • telephone.

Benjamin Franklin
  • Ben Franklin was born in 1706 and lived to be
  • 84 years old. He was an inventor among
  • many other things. Ben Franklin was a very
  • smart man.

  • The Franklin Stove to heat homes safer
  • The Lightning Rod to protect buildings and ships
    from lightning damage
  • Bifocal eyeglasses to see both near and far
  • And he established the first fire company to put
    fires out

What We Learned
  • Inventors are very important people for many
    different
  • reasons. Without them, we would not have such
    wonderful
  • things like the light bulb, fire fighters, sound
    recorders,
  • movie cameras, or telephones.
