What was the Original Project
The basis for the project was to intercept flows
from the existing YDSS sewer on Yonge Street to
alleviate capacity constraints in the existing
system
  • Class EA Completed June 2003
  • Detailed Design 80 Completed Oct 2004
  • A diversion manhole was to be constructed at the
southeast corner of 19th Avenue and Yonge Street
followed by a 1500 mm (60 inch) sewer from Yonge
Street to Leslie Street. A 2100 mm (84 inch)
sewer would then be constructed down Leslie
Street which would connect into the existing
Leslie Street trunk sewer approximately 100 m
    north of Elgin Mills.

    request on project
  • Minister subsequently Denies Bump Up Request with
    Conditions
  • Overview of Conditions
  • Comprehensive review of alternative routing
options and alternative sewer design and
    construction techniques.
  • Pro-active, strategic, and ongoing Stakeholder
    Relationship Management
  • Technical assessments sufficient for all permits
    and approvals
  • Analysis of cumulative effects of dewatering
    combined with other Regional projects
  • Independent Peer Reviews
  • Technical resource for individual well
    complainants
  • Additional monitoring and reporting requirements
    during and after construction
