Our experiment is to determine the relationship
between the diameter of a parachute and the
average speed of its decent with a constant
weight.
We did this by dropping 4 different size
parachutes for 47 meters then to see which
parachute dropped the fastest.
2
Theoretical Background
We had many hypotheses that we wanted to prove or
disprove today. Three of them were 1 Using
each weights speed, we should be able to create
an average ratio of area to average
velocity. 2 Using that ratio, we should be able
to figure out the average speed of a parachute
with a different size. 3 Our data should show a
straight diagonal line in a graph that shows
1/Area Vs. Velocity2.

Results
Our experiment showed that the parachutes
followed the graph for faster moving objects,
which is 1/A Vs. velocity2, instead of just 1/A
Vs. Velocity Using our data we can predict that
a parachute with a radius of 35 would have an
average falling velocity of 2.2 m/s.
