- National Treasury seeks to
- Promote economic development
- Good governance
- Social progress
- Rising living standards through accountable,
economic, efficient, equitable and sustainable
management of public finances - Public Finance is one of the divisions of
National Treasury led by a DDG - Public Finance is responsible for assessing
budget proposals and reviewing service delivery
trends in national govt depts and their entities.
4TAU within National Treasury?
- The TAU (chief directorate within Public Finance)
provides Programme Project Management (PPM)
technical assistance to depts to improve quality
of spend by - Providing management and technical assistance to
government institutions - Leveraging and disseminate public sector PPM
knowledge and innovation - Building and maintaining the TAU as an effective
and efficient learning organisation - The TAU makes a contribution to improving govts
capability to deliver on right things (quality of
spend) to SA public through supporting and
facilitating mission critical PPM in govt.

- Improved quality of spend in all three spheres of
govt.
