Multi-functional Additives for Natural
Rubber The use of a single additive which can
cater to different functional requirements of a
rubber composition during processing and service
can simplify the processing and lead to economy
in the long run. Phosphorylated Cashew Nut Shell
Liquid (PCNSL) prepolymer, has been found to act
as a multifunctional additive in NR in various
roles
Basic/Applied Research
Task force project

• improver of filler dispersion and
• improver of the vulcanizate properties such as
  tensile strength, elongation at break, tear
  strength, thermal stability and resistance to
  fatigue failure and thermooxidative
  decomposition.
• tackifier,
• The above improvements have been demonstrated in
  comparison with commercially available
  monofunctional additives.
• as a co-crosslinkable plasticizer and softener.
