2What is the ECO-RAEES Foundation?
- We are an enviromental foundation,
not-for-profit organization, founded by
MANUFACTURERS and IMPORTERS of electrical and
electronic equipment, and the support of the
Spanish Authorities.
3Legislation
- We accomplish the requirements of Spanish
Foundation Law nr. 50/2002 dated on December 26th
2002, such as Take-Back obligations imposed in
Law 208/2005 dated February 25th 2005. - We are registered and approved by the Ministry of
Environment nr. 460.002. - We are currently authorised and we collect waste
in different regional governments.
4Legislation OBJECTIVES
- To Reduce the amount of WEEE (Minimum
4Kg/inhab/year). - To Release the dangerous components.
- To Increase reusing of the EEE.
- To apply percentages of recycling and value of
WEEE. - To stablish and coordinate the collection of
WEEE, ensuring that discarded equipment is
recycled in an effective way. - .........

- The Take-Back System Foundation ECO-RAEES was
founded by manufacturers and importers, to
stablish a Take-Back System according to the law,
and their requirements and needs. - A made-to-measure suit tailored for producers by
producers

Foundation?
- Since the origin of the Foundation, new members
have joined us, and we are currently covering the

Foundation?
- ?After the recent coming into force of the
Executive Order 106/2008, ECO-RAEEs Foundation
broadened its sphere of action for batteries
waste management to ensure waste processing
effectiveness of the following -
- Batteries
- ? Button cells (Oxygen, Silver Oxide, Manganese
dioxide Lithium, .. ) - ? Dry cells (Alkaline, Zinc-Carbon, Lithium
AAA, Lithium aa, Lithium, non-rechargeables, .. - ? Portable accumulators

- Our main purpose is environmental conservation,
ensuring that discarded equipment is recycled in
an effective way. - To invoice the real cost of collecting and
recycling materials, which were sure enough
placed in the market. - Minimize the Waste Management Cost
- Flexible Financial System designed by the own
producers / importers.

- To inform and advise accordingly to our members
to accomplish the current waste obligation, and
any further regulation. - Our members are updated any time.
- New categories and members are free to be taken
under consideration.
10Foundation ECO- RAEEs OBJECTIVES (III)
- We are working together with the Spanish
Authorities, Ministery of Environment and
regional governments, in order to solve some
discrepancies in the WEEE obligation as per Law
208/2005, dd 25th of February. - To accomplish the Law with the support of
regional governments and in defense of the
interest of our members.
11OUR TASKS (I)
- We are in charge of collection, sorting,
treatment, recycling and value of Waste
Electrical and Electronic Equipment nationwide,
where our members have sold and distributed their
products .
12OUR TASKS (II)
- . We follow up the waste and discarded
equipment, in the whole process, since the
collection, whatever transport is required in the
point of loading, until the final reusing or
recycling process in the most suitable recycling
plant . - We provide always accurate information on the
process to the Ministry of Environment, and to
our members.
13OUR TASKS (III)
- To minimize the recycling costs in any process
involved til recycling. - To reuse the waste just whenever the
manufacturer or importer is willing to do it.

- We have collaboration agreements and public and
private institutions support, among which we
find - Valencian Computer Stores Business Association
(AVINFO) Agreement. - Technical Support and Repair Business Association
(ASETECO) Agreement.

- Electrical Appliances Stores Business Association
(COMELEC) Agreement. - Spanish Recovery Federation (including the main
Treatment Plants and WEEE operators in Spain)
Agreement. - Diputación of Valencia Agreement (GIRSA) for the
waste collection and transport from the Recycling
Plants in the Comunidad Valenciana to the
Treatment Plants.
