SERMON TITLE The Return Of The Lord

The Return of the Lord Jesus Christ is
a tremendous incentive for the believer. It
is 1. An incentive to live a pure
life.2. A call to be faithful to the
Lord.3. A great desire to live a life of
obedience.

I John 228, And now,
little children, abide in him that, when he
shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be
ashamed before him at his coming. Malachi 37,
Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone
away from mine ordinances, and have not kept
them. Return unto me, and I will return unto
you, saith the Lord of hosts. But ye said,
Wherein shall we return?

POINT I. THE COMING OF THE LORD

Malachi 31, Behold, I will send my messenger,
and he shall prepare the way before me and the
Lord whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his
temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom
ye delight in behold, he shall come, saith the
Lord of hosts.

• THE AGE OF GRACE

  Christ and the Holy Spirit being poured out upon
  the Church and
• The Second Coming of Christ when He raptures
  the Church away.

• Malachi 32, But who may abide the day of his
  coming? And who shall stand when he appeareth?
  For he is like a refiners fire and like fullers
  soap.

• A TIME OF JUDGMENT
• The Lord is coming to purge
• The Lord is coming to cleanse

Verse 3, And he shall sit as a refiner and
purifier of silver and he shall purify the sons
of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that
they may offer unto the Lord an offering in
righteousness. Verse 4, Then shall the
offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto
the Lord, as in the days of old, and as in former
years.

• Sometimes God delivers you out of the fiery
  furnace of experience.
• Sometimes the divine plan of God allows you
  to go trough the fiery experiences to refine
  your life.

• A FAITH THAT CANNOT BE TESTED CANNOT BE TRUSTED!
• I Peter 417, For the time is come that judgment
  must begin at the house of God and if it first
  begin at us, what shall the end be of them that
  obey not the gospel of God?
• God wants you to be clean

DEPARTURE Isaiah 536, All we like sheep have
gone astray we have turned everyone to his own
way and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity
of us all. Malachi 38, Will a man rob God?
Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say Wherein have
we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

have robbed me, even this whole nation. Verse
10, Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse,
that there may be meat in mine house, and prove
me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I
will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour
you out a blessing, that there shall not be room
enough to receive it.
