UIC Incorporation

• Phase 1 UIC resolution ended on Jan 11, 2006
• LEAs PSAs must incorporate the UIC decisions
  back into the Student Information System (SIS)
• Manual data entry
• Download UIC file from CEPI import into SIS

UIC Reporting

• Beginning with the Feb 2006 SRSD file, 85 of the
  records must contain a valid UIC. (Excludes new
  Kindergarten students and Early Childhood
  students)
• Failure to comply will prevent the LEA or PSA
  from submitting the SRSD file to the state.

• Feb 8 Count date (error checker released on
  count date)
• March 15 data, paperwork due to ISD

General Ed Changes

• Field 19 Grade or Setting
• Blanks no longer allowed.
• Dependencies (for code 30, EC/EO) with Fields
  42 and 43.
• Field 23 District Exit Status
• Field definition specifications for end-of-year
  added.
• Field 30 Student Residency (Membership)
• End-of-year submission added.
• Field 31 Supplemental Nutrition Eligibility.
• Elimination of code 4.
• Definition codes 1, 2, 3.
• Utilization for E-Rate.
• Field 123 Date of Count
• Specifications for end-of-year submission.

Note EOY Reporting

• Field 23 District Exit Status
• Specify High School in codes 01, 02, 03 04
• Code 08 specifies another public school in MI
• Field 30 Student Residency (Membership)
• For reporting purposes (e.g., graduation rates,
  program participation) new enrollees since the
  spring count date will be assumed to be public
  school students unless otherwise indicated in
  this field. New nonpublic students should be
  reported with the appropriate residency status.
  Note For all students reported in previous
  cycles, the last submitted residency code will be
  used for end of year. There is no need to
  re-verify their status.
• Field 123 Date of Count
• Although 06/30/2006 is the value that populates
  Field 123, when extracting students for the
  End-of-Year SRSD submission, local student
  management systems should be set to include
  students who may have enrolled after the spring
  submission, were present on the last day of the
  current academic year, and were exited from the
  district afterward. For example, this would
  include a student who enrolled as a senior after
  the spring count and then graduated from the
  district at the end of the current academic year.
