4Service Industry Asset Tracking Management,
built by Ryzex Company 500 hotel locations and
35 regional offices, had a large quantity of
capital assets, requiring them to have a better
asset tracking solution. Problem Before the
installation, they hired contract labor to do a
physical/paper-based inventory that resulted in a
20 margin of error. Solution They chose
Intermec's 740s/750s with color screen for their
user friendly, ruggedized PDA design. Their
regional distribution facilities are equipped
with WiFi access points, and the system is
interfacing to their Oracle ERP application
software. Result Post-installation, they now
complete inventory in half the time and with more
accuracy. ROI calculations have shown the
equipment paying for itself within one inventory
cycle.

distribution centres and stores as a test bed for
the six-month pilot -the other participants
will mark a small selection of their inventory
with RFID tags to measure the effectiveness of
using the technology in a grocery store supply
chain. -expect rollouts in 2007
