The problems with petrol

• Petrol is a finite resource, because crude oil
  supplies are limited
• Wont last more than a 100 years
• Crude oil is used for more things than petrol we
  use them for chemical feedstocks (starting
  materials) for the petrochemicals industry
• Uses include detergents, synthetic materials and
  pharmaceuticals

The problems with petrol

• As we use up the supplies, oil products may be
  become too valuable to burn in car engines
• Pollution, petrol produces carbon dioxide when it
  burns major contribution to the greenhouse
  effect
• Real need to improve the performance of petrol
  engines so the petrol is burnt as cleanly and
  efficiently as possible and find fuels to replace
  petrol in the future
