Homework

• Homework is the students responsibility
• Homework should take no longer than 1 hour.
• 20 minutes of reading is assigned every night.
• Math and Spelling are assigned on most nights.
• Highlighted work is work that was not done.
• Homework will be assigned on Friday if a lesson
  calls for it.
• I do not assign homework over a vacation. The
  only exception is the 20 minutes of nightly
  reading.

• Hot Tickets!

When I catch a student being good or going out
of their way to help others I give them a ticket.
At the end of the week I pull out 2 tickets and
the winners receive a small prize. Once a
student earns a ticket, the ticket cannot be
taken away.

Reading Writing

• Our reading program covers fiction,
  nonfiction, books in a series, biographies,
  poetry, and mysteries.
• In Writing Workshop we cover basic skills,
  letter writing, fiction, nonfiction, personal
  narratives, and poetry.

Social Studies Science

• Social Studies units include Geography, United
  States, China, and Brazil.
• Science units include Ideas and Inventions,
  Structures of Life, and The Solar System.
