Advantages

• Protect companys private information.

Disadvantages

• Wire and Electronic Communications and
  Transactional Records Act, prohibits intentional,
  unauthorized access to stored communications
• The criminal code of Canada prohibits the
  interception of private communications
• Electronic monitoring is costly, and the benefits
  should exceed the costs
• Additional costs include the time to review and
  use the collected data and the high cost of
  employee dissatisfaction if the electronic
  monitoring system is not properly designed and
  implemented

  for personal reasons, including shopping, stock
  trading and gambling sites
