Student Athlete
  • Being a Student athlete is tough because the
    athlete has to manage his/her time the right way,
    especially if the athlete is in season.

  • Athletes need to eat the right foods in order to
    maintain a particular weight, to gain energy, and
    most importantly to be able to perform at a
    substantial ability level

  • In general, not eating the correct foods can lead
    to serious heart diseases, diabetes, kidney
    disease, and most importantly a bad health style

  • The proper foods to eat are adequate amounts of
    protein, fruits, vegetables, carbohydrates,
    calcium, and water

  • It is tough for students to create time to go
    grocery shopping and have enough money to buy the
    proper foods

  • I conducted a survey here at Rowan University
    with athletes from the baseball and softball team
    to see if their information agreed with the
    research that I found

Results
  • On average, how many full meals do you eat a day?

  • Do you feel that you have enough time to eat the
    correct amount(3) of meals a day?

  • As you can see from the results that I have
    received from my survey, it is tough to juggle
    classes, homework, lifting, sleep, playing a
    sport, and eating correctly

  • Most students rush around and the only thing they
    can eat is café food or eat at fast food joints

  • The only time student athletes eat healthy is
    when they go home for home cook meals
