  • Outside the scope of SAP Procurement

  • The commitment consumes available budget
    and standard availability control rules are
    followed.
  • Financial documents (e.g. Accounts Payable)
  • must liquidate the budgetary commitment

Transaction FMZ1 Create Funds Commitment
  • Creates a document only in the SAP Funds
  • Management (FM) module for budget
  • Carries a vendor code on each line item for
  • integration with Procurement and Finance
  • Consumes available budget
  • Invokes Availability Control

  • MM documents (PRs and POs) cannot
  • reference the funds commitment document
  • FI documents (Accounts Payable) can
  • reference the document and liquidate the
  • commitment using the Earmarked Funds
  • field in the line item

WORKFLOW
  • The system allows the originator of a
  • Funds Commitment only to park, not post
  • Parking triggers Workflow to a chain of
  • approvers defined on the User ID of the
  • originator
  • Value adjustments and other changes are
  • restricted to Comptroller roles

AGENCY ROLES
Transaction FMZ1 Create Funds Commitment is
included in the following Agency roles
  • Agency Financial Reviewer-Accounts Payable
  • Agency Financial Reviewer-Grants
  • Agency Financial Reviewer-Project System

NOTE The related Processor roles were deleted by
the Finance team after determining that Processor
and Reviewer roles were transactionally
identical. Positions mapped to Processor roles
were automatically remapped to Reviewer roles.
