  • Inspection findings
  • A solid continues bead of material fillet was
    evident on both sides (2nd step) of the EEPROMs
    U6, U8, U11.
  • Material fillet was observed at the front of U6
    and at the end of U11 (2nd step). Unable to view
    either ends of the other ICs with the mini
    mirror due to not enough clearance in between the
    ICs bodys (could not photo due to location).
  • No cracks were observed in the staking material
    around the posts of U5 U16 Ref NC781.
  • Missing J7 cover plate and hardware.
  • Flux residue under capacitor and on top of solder
    joint (Location near U11)
  • Different type of hardware (nuts) used to install
    front panel. View RAD 750 S/N 031 012.
  • J1 Connector damage at initial receiving
    inspection ref NC 748. BAE repaired with epoxy.

  • U6 (pin 1) able to view a solid continues bead of
    material fillet on both sides of the EEPROM at
    the 2nd step.
  • U6 (pin 32) able to view material by using a mini
    mirror.

    material fillet on both sides of the EEPROM at
    the 2nd step.
  • U8 (pin 32) able to view material by using a mini
    mirror.

    the 2nd step.

RAD 750 SN 31, J1 ConnRef NC 748
  • Shield damage at the edge of J1 connector was
    observed and documented on NC 748 when CCA was
    received at SLAC in Nov 2005.
  • CCA was returned back to BAE for evaluation and
    repair EEPROMs. BAE applied epoxy around the
    damaged area of the connector shield. To prevent
    any additional lifting of the connector shield.

  • Inspection completed and RAD 750 installed back
    into original crate. S/N GLAT 2526, Pending vibe
    testing.
