Articles of Confederation

• It established a unification among the States.
• Congress was created (unicameral) and each State
  got one vote.
• Presiding officer was chosen by Congress.
• Congress had many powers- make war, money system,
  raise army, ect.
• Couldnt tax.

The 1780s

• States weren't following the Articles.
• Period of economic chaos.
• Shays rebellion.

Need for Stronger Government

• States started to meet with each other on their
  own.
• Finally all met in Philadelphia which became the
  Constitutional Convention.
