Birthday

• When we celebrate our birthdays, we use the
  Danish flag a lot. We put it in our gardens, on
  the tables, and little flags in the cake. We put
  as many candles on the cake as the age we are.
  For example, when we turn 5 years old, we put 5
  candles on the cake. And our parents, brothers,
  and sisters wake us up with a birthday song.
• We invite the whole family and make a wish list
  of what presents we want.
• We eat layer cake, buns and drink hot cocoa with
  whip cream.
• If you have a birthday on a school day (Monday to
  Friday), you bring candy enough for everybody in
  your class, and they sing a birthday song for you
  and draw pictures for you.
