HISTORY
The Faculty of Economics from the University of
Kragujevac started its academic life as a branch
of Belgrade Faculty of Economics when, in autumn
of 1960, it enrolled the first generation of its
students in the premises of the Teacher's
Training School.
After 15 years of successful work, the Faculty
branch acquired all prerequisites for becoming an
independent scientific and educational
institution. On December 16, 1975, a referendum
was carried out among the employees who voted for
the Faculty independence and the Faculty has been
celebrating this date ever since as its day.
The Faculty continues its work and development
until May 21, 1976 when, along with other
independent faculties, was united within the
University of Kragujevac.

BOLOgne PROCESs

• On October 2003 Serbia and Montenegro signed
• the Bologne Declaration and took the obligation
• about implementation of higher education reform
• according to European standards in this area.

• The most important principles are shorten time of
• studying, opportunity to studying anywhere in
• in Europe and implementation of ECTS.

• The Faculy of Economics from Kragujevac has
• already began implementation of these principles
• in 2001.

• The new Higher Education Law will have been
• finished soon. It will be basis for
  implementation of
• the Bologne principles in Serbia.
