Business Continuity Plan (BCP)

Purpose Objective
  • BCP helps us to execute an orderly and effective
    response to any sudden, unplanned, severe
    business interruption.
  • It can be activated after any event that prevents
    CIC from using its facilities in the premise.
  • The overall objective is to be able to operate
    the business indefinitely at approximately 50 of
    normal capacity from a recovery location.

Purpose Objective
Assembly Point
  • Primary Assembly point Hong Lim Park
  • walk along Chulia Street
  • By default, all staff will assemble at the
    primary assembly point
  • Alternate assembly point The Empress Place
  • This is to be used if our primary assembly point
    is not accessible. We will have to wait for the
    instruction from our fire warden.

What to do first?
  • Who can activate BCP?
  • Mr Jean Luc Anglada or Philippe Dallée
  • BCP will be activated if it appears normal
    operations cannot be resumed in CIC premise
    within four hours.
  • Please read the Fire Evacuation Plan to prepare
    yourself for a systematic orderly evacuation in
    case of emergency.
  • BCP is activated with the Call Tree Notification.
    This is to inform all CIC employees the time of
    day that the plan was activated. The assigned
    Recovery Team members for the respective
    departments should go immediately to the recovery
    facility.
  • Call tree list is updated regularly and circulate
    to the staff. However, staff must update their
    contacts through E-Portal.

Call Tree Notification
  • Mr Anglada, Philippe and Cecilia will start the
    Notification Call Tree by calling the respective
    heads of the departments.
  • There are maximum 5 levels in the Call Tree List.
    The split of the level is to maintain the
    desired number of staff within each level so that
    all staff can be contacted within the shortest
    time.
  • The level head will call the employees you are
    assigned to after you are notified. If you
    cannot reach a person, you must call all the
    people that this person should have called.
  • If the person you cannot be reached is the
    Recovery Team member, a replacement member in the
    group must be selected to report to the recovery
    facility.
  • Other members should remain at home and CIC
    management will give updates about the recovery.

  • 22 hot seats and 12 expansion seats (total 34
    seats)
  • Main line, fax and a few of the direct lines have
    remote command.
  • Almost all the systems have the backup facility
    at the recovery site. Our databases are backup
    regularly. This is to reduce the amount of lost
    data if a severe interruption occurred.
  • CIC engages BCP consultant to maintain the
    recovery procedures and they meet the respective
    departments either yearly or once in every 2
    years to update the plan.
  • BCP exercise is conducted on a yearly basis.
