- County Business Patterns is an annual series that
provides sub-national economic data by industry. - Data items are number of establishments,
employment, 1st quarter payroll and annual
payroll. - Includes information by employment size class.
- Provides data for establishments in the United
States, including the District of Columbia.
Puerto Rico data are also available separately.

- Self-employed Individuals
- Employees of Private Households
- Railroad Employees
- Agricultural Production Employees
- And Most Government Employees
- Changed from Standard Industrial Classification
(SIC) System to 1997 North American Industry
Classification System (NAICS) in 1998 data year - Changed from 1997 NAICS to 2002 NAICS in 2003
data year - Tabulation of about 7 million business
establishments
