Background
Biggest annual staff survey in the world covers
the whole NHS Co-ordinated by the Healthcare
Commission and used as part of the annual Health
Check Survey conducted during October and
November 2007 Our response rate was 47 - lower
than last year

their concerns
Benefits
  • Staff satisfaction and engagement is important -
    it affects everything we do
  • Improving life at work will make us more
    productive and better able to deliver quality
    services and commissioning
  • Highly engaged staff are more committed and less
    likely to want to leave

  • 95 in 2007 versus 74 in 2006.
  • Staff working extra hours.
  • 64 in 2007 versus 73 in 2006.
  • Witnessing potentially harmful errors, near
    misses or incidents last month.
  • 17 in 2007 versus 27 in 2006.
  • Support from immediate managers (rate out of 5).
  • 3.57 in 2007 versus 3.48 in 2006.

    months.
  • 34 say they had relevant training in 2007,
