  • On March 11, 1960
  • St. Louis First Sister City Relationship
  • was born through the interest of Mayor Raymond
    R. Tucker

  • The prancing horse featured on the Ferrari logo
    was the emblem of Italian WWI flying ace
    Francesco Baracca, whose parents persuaded Enzo
    Ferrari to use the symbol of their late son for
    his Alfa Romeo race cars.
  • When Ferrari later started his own car company,
    he continued use of this logo.
  • The Porsche badge is the coat of arms of the
    city of Stuttgart (where the cars are built).

  • In 950, Duke Liudolf von Schwaben founded a stud
    farm (Stuotgarten) from which the city of
    Stuttgart took its name and the coat of arms
  • In 1890, Daimler founded the Daimler Motor
    Company in Cannstatt, near Stuttgart, to
    mass-produce his designs. In 1899, Daimler asked
    Maybach to design a racing car, which was given
    the name Mercedes.

    area high school students have visited each
    others cities through home stays and created ever
    lasting friendships
  • Since 1997 SLSSC has provided 60,000 in
    scholarships and grants!
