Impact
  • Newcastle College Inspection May 2004,
  • grade 1
  • Yvonne Nedelec, Faculty Director, highlights
the focus on reflection, evaluation and
collaboration which developed as a result of the
work with the Standards Unit. This brought about
a fundamental recognition of the need for change.
Staff were encouraging each other to experiment
and, more importantly, as the dialogue was
flowing were more willing to ask for help and
    support.

13
Impact
  • Solihull College inspected 2002, grade 4
    reinspected grade 3
  • Andy Probyn, head of the Business Faculty,
points out that it was the focus of attention on
teaching and learning and the support offered by
the Standards Unit which enabled them to achieve
    a grade 3 on their re-inspection.
  • Working as a pilot centre with the Standards
Unit Andy found that staff were enjoying talking
to each other about teaching and learning and
were willing to share and embrace new ideas.
Teachers were being invited into classrooms to
watch each other on an informal basis to assist
in the reflections and evaluations of the
    session
