5Biodynamic Farming
Biodynamic Farming Started with
Rudolf Steiner
In 1924, Rudolf Steiner gave a series of 8
lectures, laying the foundation for a new way of
thinking about the relationship of the earth and
the formative forces of nature. He showed how the
health of the soil, plants, and animals depends
on reconnecting nature with the creative forces
of the cosmos.
Biodynamic farming is the oldest non-chemical
agriculture movement in the world, predating
"organic" agriculture by 20 years.
6Biodynamics is a science of life-forces, a
recognition of the basic principles at work in
nature, and an approach to agriculture which
takes these principles into account to bring
about balance and healing.
