1
Global Home Business Network by Gertrude I
Hewapathirana
  • Beyond
  • Schooling

2
Knowledge Leadership Model For the 21st Century
Network of home based businesses powered by
knowledge and innovative technology for
heterogeneous communities
3
Goal
  • Develop proactive constructive strategies and
    proceedings to implement highly innovative
knowledge creation and knowledge sharing model
    that would bypass conventional developmental
    stages such as agricultural, pre-industrial,
    industrial, and information.
  • Develop intercultural understanding among
    international communities narrowing the cultural
    gap among global communities
  • Create wealth and help indigenous communities

4
Stakeholders and the target population
  • School leaving youths, minorities, women,
disadvantaged groups, and economically poor yet
    talented people
  • Anyone who respect intercultural values and who
wish to build harmonious human and non-human
    networks
  • Volunteers and others who are interested in
    developing close relationships with multicultural
communities around the world and anyone who wish
    to be clients or supporters

5
Factors motivated me to design this model
  • Work experience in the developing world
  • Lack of opportunities for poor people
  • Urgent social need in developing countries
  • To utilize knowledge gained from my studies

6
Rational for choosing the topic
  • If we do not initiate innovative strategies to
cope with the growing information technology in
the globalization trend, the gap between the rich
and the poor, the majorities and minorities, the
literates and illiterates, and women and men will
    be further widened.
  • Large corporations who provided a large number of
jobs are now downsizing their businesses due to
    unbearably escalating administrative overheads
