Using Data To Inform

• Teachers download Test Trakker data.
• Teachers are trained to analyze the data.

Making It Meaningful

• Students are given an explanation of what their
  scores mean
• What is a passing score?
• What is a Developmental Scale Score?
• What are Clusters?
• How can I improve my scores for next year?

Commitment Communication

• Students are asked to write a statement detailing
  their commitment to raise the level of their
  performance.
• Students are required to bring the report back to
  their teacher signed by a parent.

Prescription Lesson Plans

• Teachers analyze student needs, both as
  individuals, and as a class.
• Content area is not abandoned. It is simply
  taught with new tools.

Taking It To The Next Level

• Guidance counselors look at last years 9th
  grade student scores and create a list of all

  grade FCAT.

Kicking It Up A Notch

• Administrators will counsel students that
  committed to attending F.A.S.T. but are not
  attending.
• 9th 10th grade classroom visits
• Fresh review of FCAT skills in late February
• ESOL contacts made by Spanish speaker

How It All Fits Together

• Teachers use data to analyze their students
  instructional needs and teach prescriptively.
• Guidance counselors provide extra support and
  parent contact for academically needy students.
• Administration provides more support and
  motivation.
• Parents and students recognize that each child is
  an individual at BHS.

One Last Component

• Professional Development is aimed to meet each of
  the administrative and instructional goals for
  BHS 2003-2004. Goals are based on data (EQuIP,
  Climate Survey, and SIP).
• Each activity is designed to give teachers and
  other staff members a skill that will impact
  student achievement.
• TPAS objectives are aligned with School
  Improvement Plan.
