• When you answer the question in your first
  sentence, dont let that sentence be a paragraph
  unto itself rather, let it open out onto a full
  paragraph that explores that idea.
• Check the Glossary of Usage in the Bedford if
  youre having problems with confusing pairs, such
  as affect/effect, accept/except,
  their/theyre/there, etc.
• A dash or a colon starts a list, not a semi colon
  (34). Semi colons join related independent
  clauses or can be use with conjunctive adverbs
• Bob likes coffee Karen likes tea.
• Bob likes coffee however, Karen likes tea.
• With in-text citations for stories, you can
  either use page numbers or paragraph numbers.
  Remember, at the end of a quote, a citation will
  look like this
• wait for the girls to show up (17).

Echoing the Question

• If the question asks what limits the protagonist,
  then echo the key word(s) in your introductory
  sentence
• Sammy, the protagonist in A P is limited by
  a variety of factors, including his job, his
  social class, his sexism, and the conservatism
  that surrounds him.
