Artist Statement
  •
  • Since my early childhood I have used art as an
escape from the media, I have seem my artwork
grow dramatically from stick figures to
expressive detail and feeling on canvas. My art
teachers have acted as mentors and fellow art
students as an inspiration to new ideas and
success, In the past year a local art exhibit
called Art Space, changed my thoughts and
attitude towards different types of artwork. This
experience makes me want to create greater things
    with more complexity and design.
  •
  • The majority of my artwork reflects what is
important in my life, whether this be a
particular jewelry box from my childhood, or a
park that stays vivid in my mind. The experiences
of my life are a treasure to me, and I find it
easiest to express them through the paintbrush.
Usually at the end of this brush you will find
acrylic paint, my favorite medium to use. The
ease of mixing different shades and tints helps
me create intensity and passion throughput my
artwork. Yet sometimes I find myself painting the
emotions of others, their hardships, or
    happiness.
  •
  • Overall, my experience with art throughout
school has led me to a path where I can pursue a
career in the arts. My experience with different
media which range from clay and molds, to acrylic
and oils, has assured me of a lifelong dream.
With the growth of my knowledge, I plan to paint
more original artwork instead of basing my ideas
off of others. I find that my artwork because
more personal and vivid whenever I take my own
paintbrush, instead of one of another painter.
stress of everyday life. From the time I began
    working with different

Elognated Self Portriat
  • This elongated self portrait was created with
pastels whenever I was in Art II. In the artwork
I am blowing a bubble from a piece of double
    bubble while crossing my eyes.

5
Agriculture Scene
  • This farm scene was created with clay and painted
with glazes. Included in the scene is a fence,
driveway, pond, mud hole, tree, pigs and an
overview of yellow flowers growing in a field.

6
Butterfly
  • This piece of artwork is a monotype of a monarch
butterfly. Painted with primarly greens whites,
reds and blacks.. Its the only one printed of
    its kind.

7
Penguin
  • These penguins were stippled whenever I was in
middle school. I used more dots in one area to
create a deeper concentration and less dots in
one surrounding area to create areas where light
    was reflected.

Colorful Wonders
  • This is one of my most recent pieces of artwork
created in Art III. It is a young girl which has
been twisted into a wonder of colors from her
face to her hair. It is painted with acrylic
    paint.

9
Pottery Collection
  • This pottery collection shows two of my pieces in
ceramics so far. Both are made out of clay and
    are dipped with different glazes.
