4Our Objectives
- To treat, educate and support the diving
community in Thailand - Education and training
- Medical advice and emergency assistance
- Correct diagnoses and treatment for decompression
illness - Example
- Koh Tao previously had the highest number of DCI
cases in Thailand. - Since Badalveda established a diving medicine
center on the island we have had - approx. 90 divers with DCI symptoms.
- Only 8 divers received recompression treatment in
18 months - By correctly diagnosing DCI and not automatically
treating every suspected DCI - case we have been able to significantly reduce
the amount divers receiving - recompression treatment in Thailand.
- Helps improve Thailands image as a safe diving
location
