2This is the story of Edmond Egg. Edmond Egg
eagerly exercised everyday.
3First, Edmond Egg would exercise his eyes. He
rolled them around and around.
Then he exercised his ears. He wiggled them up
and down.
4Last, Edmond Egg would roll. He rolled and
rolled. But Edmond Egg had a problem. No matter
how eagerly he exercised, he could still not get
out of his Easter basket.
5One day, an eagle flew over the Easter basket.
Edmond Egg eagerly rolled around and around.
Would the eagle see him? He did! The eagle
eased down and picked up Edmond. They flew away
easily. How exciting!
6Edmond Egg was so glad he had exercised his eyes.
He could see many things below him. He saw an
elephant, elk, emu, Eskimo, and an elementary
school.
7Edmond Egg was also glad he had exercised his
ears. He could hear many things below him. He
heard an emergency siren, and engine, and the
expressway.
8The eagle took Edmond Egg toward Mount Everest.
As they flew over some very tall trees, Edmond
Egg fell! The eagle had dropped him! He fell
down, down, down, and then landed.
9Edmond Egg was strong from exercising. He began
to roll. He rolled and rolled until he was back
at his Easter basket. Edmond Egg eagerly told
everyone about his exciting adventure.
