  • An open enrollment for Epic Dental and Excess
    Major Medical plan is anticipated, pending
    approval by the Group Insurance Board
  • All eligible employees may enroll, including
    anyone who previously dropped this coverage.
  • The enrollment period is planned for October 6
    24, 2008
  • Deductible for dental services will be reduced to
    75 and the annual maximum will be 1,000
  • Premiums will increase on 1/1/08.

  • Health insurance application when an employee has
    an enrollment opportunity under Act 202. Applies
    to LTEs and less than full-time employees (page
    C-8 of Its Your Choice). Get a completed health
    insurance application, including when the
    employee waives coverage or otherwise document.
  • Update on feedback received regarding on-going
    problems with Spectera and Anthem DentalBlue.

  • Pending approval of the Group Insurance Board,
    all employees electing the Standard Plan will pay
    the Tier 3 contribution effective 1/1/09. The
    only exception is if their work location is
    outside of WI.
  • OSER made this decision because of the inequity
    that arises when employees who live over the
    state border pay less than employees living in
    Wisconsin for the same plan.

  • Applies to all state employees but the UWS has
    the largest number of affected employees.
  • As of June, there are 187 UWS employees who are
    paying the Tier 2 contribution but should be
    paying the Tier 3 contribution.
  • Each identified employee will receive a letter
    from OSER announcing the change. As soon as we
    have the letter we will share it with the
    institutions, as well as the date of mailing.
  • Institutions will need to keep track of employees
    who started employment after June so that letters
    can be sent to them as well.

  • This fall the ETF Dual-Choice Kick-Off meeting
    will be held on September 24, 2008. A dedicated
    teleconference will be held on September 25.
    This is primarily for benefits staff who cannot
    attend the Kick-Off meeting or want clarification
    of something discussed at the meeting.
