Leviticus 1340-41 - When a man has lost his
hair and is bald, he is clean. If he has lost his
hair from the front of his scalp and has a bald
forehead, he is clean.

Judges 16 Samson and Delilah 1 One day Samson
went to Gaza, where he saw a prostitute. He went
in to spend the night with her. 2 The people of
Gaza were told, "Samson is here!" So they
surrounded the place and lay in wait for him all
night at the city gate. They made no move during
the night, saying, "At dawn we'll kill him." 3
But Samson lay there only until the middle of the
night. Then he got up and took hold of the doors
of the city gate, together with the two posts,
and tore them loose, bar and all. He lifted them
to his shoulders and carried them to the top of
the hill that faces Hebron. 4 Some time later, he
fell in love with a woman in the Valley of Sorek
whose name was Delilah. 5 The rulers of the
Philistines went to her and said, "See if you can
lure him into showing you the secret of his great
strength and how we can overpower him so we may
tie him up and subdue him. Each one of us will
give you eleven hundred shekels of silver."
6
Judges 16 Samson and Delilah 6 So Delilah said
to Samson, "Tell me the secret of your great
strength and how you can be tied up and
subdued." 7 Samson answered her, "If anyone ties
me with seven fresh thongs that have not been
dried, I'll become as weak as any other man." 8
Then the rulers of the Philistines brought her
seven fresh thongs that had not been dried, and
she tied him with them. 9 With men hidden in the
room, she called to him, "Samson, the Philistines
are upon you!" But he snapped the thongs as
easily as a piece of string snaps when it comes
close to a flame. So the secret of his strength
was not discovered. 10 Then Delilah said to
Samson, "You have made a fool of me you lied to
me. Come now, tell me how you can be tied." 11 He
said, "If anyone ties me securely with new ropes
that have never been used, I'll become as weak as
any other man." 12 So Delilah took new ropes and
tied him with them. Then, with men hidden in the
room, she called to him, "Samson, the Philistines
are upon you!" But he snapped the ropes off his
arms as if they were threads.
7
Judges 16 Samson and Delilah 13 Delilah then
said to Samson, "Until now, you have been making
a fool of me and lying to me. Tell me how you can
be tied."  He replied, "If you weave the seven
braids of my head into the fabric on the loom and
tighten it with the pin, I'll become as weak as
any other man." So while he was sleeping, Delilah
took the seven braids of his head, wove them into
the fabric 14 and tightened it with the pin.
Again she called to him, "Samson, the
Philistines are upon you!" He awoke from his
sleep and pulled up the pin and the loom, with
the fabric. 15 Then she said to him, "How can you
say, 'I love you,' when you won't confide in me?
This is the third time you have made a fool of me
and haven't told me the secret of your great
strength." 16 With such nagging she prodded him
day after day until he was tired to death. 17 So
he told her everything. "No razor has ever been
used on my head," he said, "because I have been a
Nazirite set apart to God since birth. If my head
were shaved, my strength would leave me, and I
would become as weak as any other man."
8
Judges 16 Samson and Delilah  18 When Delilah
saw that he had told her everything, she sent
word to the rulers of the Philistines, "Come back
once more he has told me everything." So the
rulers of the Philistines returned with the
silver in their hands. 19 Having put him to
sleep on her lap, she called a man to shave off
the seven braids of his hair, and so began to
subdue him. And his strength left him. 20 Then
she called, "Samson, the Philistines are upon
you!"       He awoke from his sleep and thought,
"I'll go out as before and shake myself free."
But he did not know that the LORD had left
him. 21 Then the Philistines seized him, gouged
out his eyes and took him down to Gaza. Binding
him with bronze shackles, they set him to
grinding in the prison. 22 But the hair on his
head began to grow again after it had been
shaved.
9
Within a moment, and without him realizing it,
the Holy Spirit left him.

2nd Peter 35-7, 10-15a Long ago by Gods word
the heavens existed and the earth was formed out
of water and by water. By these waters also the
world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By
the same word the present heavens and earth are
reserved for fire, being kept for the day of
judgement and destruction of ungodly men. But
the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The
heavens will disappear with a roar the elements
will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and
everything in it will be laid bare. Since
everything will be destroyed in this way, what
kind of people ought you to be? You ought to
live holy and godly lives as you look forward to
the day of God and speed its coming. That day
will bring about the destruction of the heavens
by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.
But in keeping with his promise we are looking
forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home
of righteousness. So then, dear friends, since
you are looking forward to this, make every
effort to be found spotless, blameless and at
peace with him. Bear in mind that our Lords
patience means salvation.

sinned sinners
  • All have __________
  • all are __________.

16
Romans 323 For all have sinned and fall short of
the Glory of God. 1 John 15-10 5 This is the
message we have heard from him and declare to
you God is light in him there is no darkness at
all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him
yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live
by the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as
he is in the light, we have fellowship with one
another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son,
purifies us from all sin. 8 If we claim to be
without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth
is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is
faithful and just and will forgive us our sins
and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we
claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a
liar and his word has no place in our lives.
17
Romans 620-23 20 When you were slaves to SIN,
you were free from the control of
righteousness. 21 What benefit did you reap at
that time from the things you are now ashamed of?
Those things result in DEATH! 22 But now that you
have been set free from SIN and have become
slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to
HOLINESS, and the result is eternal LIFE. 23 For
the wages of SIN is DEATH, but the gift of God is
eternal LIFE in Christ Jesus our Lord.
18
How can we overcome the curse of sin?
4. The blood of Christ ____________.
cleanses us
19
1 John 21 My dear children, I write this to
you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does
sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our
defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 1 John
3 2 Dear friends, now we are children of God,
and what we will be has not yet been made known.
But we know that when he appears, we shall be
like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3
Everyone who has this hope in him purifies
himself, just as he is pure. 4 Everyone who sins
breaks the law in fact, sin is lawlessness. 5
But you know that he appeared so that he might
take away our sins. And in him is no sin.
20
1 Peter 113-16 Therefore, prepare your minds
for action be self-controlled set your hope
fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus
Christ is reveled. As obedient children, do not
conform to the evil desire you had when you lived
in ignorance. But just as he who called you is
holy, so be holy in all you do for it is
written Be holy, because I am holy.
21
How can I be made holy?
Sanctification
22
When you see sin, __________ and __________ .
hate it forsake it
23
1 Timothy 522b Do not share in the sins of
others. Keep yourself pure. James 47-10 7
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the
devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to
God and he will come near to you. Wash your
hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you
double-minded. 9 Grieve, mourn and wail. Change
your laughter to mourning and your joy to
gloom. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and
he will lift you up.
24
Psalm 13923-24 (NLT) 23    Search me, O God, and
know my heart       test me and know my
thoughts.    24    Point out anything in me
that offends you,       and lead me along
the path of everlasting life. 1 Peter 122 Now
that you have purified yourselves by obeying the
truth so that you have sincere love for your
brothers, love one another deeply, from the
heart.
25
Its a matter of the _________ .
heart
26
Ephesians 417-32 17 So I tell you this, and
insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer
live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their
thinking. 18 They are darkened in their
understanding and separated from the LIFE of God
because of the ignorance that is in them due to
the hardening of their hearts. 19 Having lost all
sensitivity, they have given themselves over to
sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of
impurity, with a continual lust for more. 20 You,
however, did not come to know Christ that way. 21
Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in
accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. 22
You were taught, with regard to your former way
of LIFE, to put off your old self, which is being
corrupted by its deceitful desires 23 to be made
new in the attitude of your minds 24 and to put
on the new self, created to be like God in true
righteousness and HOLINESS.
27
Ephesians 417-32 (continued) 25 Therefore each
of you must put off falsehood and speak
truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all
members of one body. 26 "In your anger do not
SIN" Do not let the sun go down while you are
still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a
foothold. 28 He who has been stealing must steal
no longer, but must work, doing something useful
with his own hands, that he may have something to
share with those in need. 29 Do not let any
unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but
only what is helpful for building others up
according to their needs, that it may benefit
those who listen. 30 And do not grieve the Holy
Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the
day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness,
rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with
every form of malice. 32 Be kind and
compassionate to one another, forgiving each
other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
28
  • Hebrews 1214
  • Make every effort to live in peace with all men
and to be holy without HOLINESS no one will see
    the Lord.

29
A Change of Heart
  • Ezekiel 1830-31
  • 30 "Therefore, O house of Israel, I will judge
you, each one according to his ways, declares the
Sovereign LORD. Repent! Turn away from all your
offenses then SIN will not be your downfall.
  • 31 Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have
committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit.
Why will you die, O house of Israel?
  • Zechariah 13
  • Therefore tell the people This is what the
LORD Almighty says Return to me,' declares the
LORD Almighty, and I will return to you,' says
    the LORD Almighty.

Judges 16 The Death of Samson  23 Now the rulers
of the Philistines assembled to offer a great
sacrifice to Dagon their god and to celebrate,
saying, "Our god has delivered Samson, our enemy,
into our hands." 24 When the people saw him, they
praised their god, saying, "Our god has delivered
our enemy into our hands, the one who laid waste
our land and multiplied our slain." 25 While they
were in high spirits, they shouted, "Bring out
Samson to entertain us." So they called Samson
out of the prison, and he performed for them.
When they stood him among the pillars, 26 Samson
said to the servant who held his hand, "Put me
where I can feel the pillars that support the
temple, so that I may lean against them." 27 Now
the temple was crowded with men and women all
the rulers of the Philistines were there, and on
the roof were about three thousand men and women
watching Samson perform.
31
Judges 16 The Death of Samson  28 Then Samson
prayed to the LORD, "O Sovereign LORD, remember
me. O God, please strengthen me just once more,
and let me with one blow get revenge on the
Philistines for my two eyes." 29 Then Samson
reached toward the two central pillars on which
the temple stood. Bracing himself against them,
his right hand on the one and his left hand on
the other, 30 Samson said, "Let me die with the
Philistines!" Then he pushed with all his might,
and down came the temple on the rulers and all
the people in it. Thus he killed many more when
he died than while he lived. 31 Then his brothers
and his father's whole family went down to get
him. They brought him back and buried him between
Zorah and Eshtaol in the tomb of Manoah his
father. He had led Israel twenty years.
32
What does eternity hold for you?
  • Isaiah 358-10
  • 8 And a highway will be there it will be called
the Way of HOLINESS. The unclean will not journey
on it it will be for those who walk in that Way
wicked fools will not go about on it.
  • 9 No lion will be there, nor will any ferocious
beast get up on it they will not be found there.
But only the redeemed will walk there,
  • 10 and the ransomed of the LORD will return. They
will enter Zion with singing everlasting joy
will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will
overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee
    away.

33
What kind of people ought you to be?
  • 2nd Peter 3
  • You ought to live holy and godly lives as
    you look
  • forward to the day of God and speed its
    coming.
  • So then, dear friends, since you are looking
    forward to this,
  • make every effort to be found spotless,
    blameless
  • and at peace with him.
  • 2 Corinthians 71
  • Since we have these promises, dear friends,
let us purify ourselves from everything that
contaminates body and spirit, perfecting HOLINESS
    out of reverence for God.
