YOUNG DRIVERS
  • Disproportionate number of deaths.
  • Mostly males
  • Often at fault.
  • Dangers during 1st year of driving.
  • They tend to drive older cars
  • Inability to recognise danger

Fatal Collisions in Tayside Young Drivers since
2003
  • 28.4 of all fatalities involve young drivers
  • 73.1 of victims aged 17-25 are male
  • The young driver was at fault in every case
  • 93.5 of fatal collisions involving young drivers
    are caused by young male drivers.
  • 83 of young females killed in vehicles driven by
    young males.
