System Description

• The purpose of this project is to redesign the
  professional webpage of Dr. Gilbert. The webpage
  should contain all of the content of his current
  website (contact information, research,
  publications, education, memberships, vita and
  current courses), but be more aesthetically
  pleasing. In addition, it should be easy to
  maintain.

Hardware Software

• A computer that is capable of running a
  semi-modern web browser.
• A web browser that supports Cascading Style
  Sheets such as Internet Explorer (4.0), Firefox,
  Safarai, etc.
• An internet connection.

Lexicon

• Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) - CSS is used to
  define colors, fonts, layout, and other aspects
  of document presentation. It enables the
  separation of document structure (HTML) from
  document presentation (CSS). This separation
  provides a number of benefits, including, greater
  flexibility and control in the content
  presentation, and reduced complexity of the
  structural content. (wikipedia.org)
• Vita - Curriculum Vitae (CV), A summary of one's
  education, professional history, and job
  qualifications, as for a prospective employer.

Task Scenario

• Fall term is about to begin, and a student that
  is enrolled in COMP 6120 Database Systems I
  wants to read about her soon-to-be professor.
  She gets to Dr. Gilberts webpage through Auburn
  Universitys directory, and after reading the
  introduction on his homepage she clicks on
  Courses to see if he is in fact teaching 6120.
  She then goes on to his Research, Publications,
  and Vita pages for further information.
