11Changes to the text of record fields are not sent
to the server until you use the Action list (to
reformat, validate, save, etc.), the View list
(to switch to another edit view or display view),
or the Functions list (for field-level actions).
?Occasionally reformat the record to make sure
that your changes are stored on the server.
12Create records 3 ways
- Create bibliographic records
- Derive a new record from an existing record and
modify - Enter content in a blank workform
- Begin with fields extracted or generated from Web
page or other electronic content metadata for the
item - Create multiple records from one URL
- Import records (from local catalog, e.g.) and add
to WorldCat
13Exporting
- Export bibliographic records or authority records
to a file on the Connexion server, and then
download the file to your workstation. Or export
records directly to your local system via TCP/IP
connection
Export right away, or store in Save file to
export in a group
14Exporting
- Single or batch export record at a time or
export a group of flagged records from the save
file - Export bibliographic records in MARC, in Dublin
Core HTML, or in Dublin Core RDF - Authority records export in MARC only
- Validation options can be set at different
levels, including turned off
15Ending a session
- When clicking Logoff to end a session, the system
checks for records in edit mode, including locked
master records and new records not saved or added
- The system displays a message to remind you to
save the records or complete editing and take a
final action before logging off.
