    God in prayer.

    prayer.

What A Friend We Have in Jesus(800)
8
In life we need a friend
  • Sins and griefs to bear
  • Trials, temptations, and trouble
  • Weaknesses and heavy-burdens
  • Despised and forsaken

9
We have a great friend in Jesus
  • A man of many friends comes to ruin, but there is
a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
    (Proverbs 1824)

10
We have a great friend in Jesus
  • In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was
with God, and the Word was God. (John 11)
  • And there is no creature hidden from His sight,
but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes
of Him with whom we have to do. (Hebrews 413)

11
We have a great friend in Jesus
  • for your Father knows what you need, before you
    ask Him. (Matthew 68)
  • Greater love has no one than this, that one lay
down his life for his friends. (John 1513)
  • God is our refuge and strength, a very present
    help in trouble. (Psalm 461)

12
When we pray to Him we can find peace and
solace.
  • Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by
prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let
your requests be made known to God. And the peace
of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall
guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
    (Philippians 46-7)

13
We must pray to receive these blessings
  • Now He was telling them a parable to show that at
all times they ought to pray and not to lose
    heart, (Luke 181)

14
The Omitted Verse
  • Blessed Jesus, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all
our burdens bearMay we ever, Lord, be bringing
All to thee in earnest prayer.Soon in glory,
bright, unclouded, There will be no need for
    prayerRapture, praise, and endless worship
shall be our sweet portion there."

15
He has proven what kind of Friend He can be. Have
we proven what kind of friend we can be to Him?
  • You are My friends, if you do what I command you.
    (John 1514)
