• What a friend we have in Jesus,all our sins and
  grief to bear,What a privilege to
  carryeverything to God in prayer.Oh what peace
  we often forfeit, Oh what needless pain we
  bear,All because we do not carry everything to
  God in prayer.

• Have we trials and temptations?Is there trouble
  anywhere?We should never be discouraged Take it
  to the Lord in prayer.Can we find a friend so
  faithful,who will all our sorrows share?Jesus
  knows our every weakness Take it to the Lord in
  prayer.

• Are we weak and heavy-laden, cumbered with a load
  of care? Precious Saviour, still our
  refuge---Take it to the Lord in prayerDo thy
  friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the
  Lord in prayerIn His arms He'll take and shield
  thee, Thou wilt find a solace there.

In life we need a friend

• Sins and griefs to bear
• Trials, temptations, and trouble
• Weaknesses and heavy-burdens
• Despised and forsaken

We have a great friend in Jesus

• A man of many friends comes to ruin, but there is
  a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
  (Proverbs 1824)

• In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was
  with God, and the Word was God. (John 11)
• And there is no creature hidden from His sight,
  but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes
  of Him with whom we have to do. (Hebrews 413)

• God is our refuge and strength, a very present

When we pray to Him we can find peace and
solace.

• Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by
  prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let
  your requests be made known to God. And the peace
  of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall
  guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
